James Nathan

James Nathan is a Partner at Stanton Chase London, where he leads the office’s Professional Services and Entertainment Sector practices. He specialises in executive search for board directors, partners, chief executives, and other senior leadership positions.

With over 25 years’ experience in executive search and professional services, James brings together expertise in talent, strategy, and leadership. His work focuses on senior mandates where leadership capability, cultural alignment, and commercial judgement are central to organisational performance and long-term value creation.

He has partnered with organisations ranging from specialist boutiques to high-growth, private equity-backed companies and established global businesses, supporting them in building leadership teams capable of managing complexity, driving growth, and strengthening client relationships in competitive markets.

Prior to joining Stanton Chase, James built a successful career in recruitment and advisory. Initially qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he moved into a global recruitment business before founding and leading his own search firm. He has worked closely with companies and professional services organisations on senior hiring, team build-out, and growth initiatives, bringing both operator and adviser experience to his role.

In addition to his search work, he advises clients on leadership structure, succession planning, and talent strategy, particularly in periods of growth, transformation, and leadership transition, and has a particular interest in driving and supporting inclusive leadership and culture.
