Maura Harrington, PhD, MBA

Maura Harrington, PhD, MBA, is a Director at Stanton Chase at Stanton Chase Los Angeles, where she is involved in executive search and leadership advisory services. She is a highly experienced consultant in conducting organizational and transition planning, executive search, facilitation and assessment for any budget and size of organization. Maura is widely recognized for her expertise in strategy, evaluation design, and in all aspects of organizational development with a focus on strategic planning, board governance, and organizational effectiveness. For more than 25 years, she has worked with organizations across all sectors to improve effectiveness and efficiencies, particularly for mission-focused organizations. For the past 15 years she has served as an executive team member of the Center for Nonprofit Management, overseeing the client services and provided consulting and training services to a broad range of nonprofit and public organizations.

Maura’s extensive background includes serving as an adjunct professor for graduate programs at the USC Schools of Social Work and Psychology, classes on organizational psychology, management of organizations, research methods, grant writing, and evaluation. She also has deep experience in designing and delivering leadership workshops, conducting leadership development research studies through the Connective Leadership Institute where she serves as an Advanced Instructor and Advisory Board Member. Maura is an executive coach and a certified Governance Trainer through BoardSource and has completed certification training as an executive coach endorsed by the International Coaching Federation.

She serves as the vice chair of the City of Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women and is a former Chair of the City of Pasadena Human Services Commission. She also served on an advisory council for the development of Metro’s Gold Line in Pasadena and South Pasadena.

She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the Claremont Graduate School, an MBA from the Peter Drucker Graduate Management Center and a BS in Psychology from Georgetown University.
