John McFarland

John McFarland is a Director at Stanton Chase, specializing in executive search across Healthcare Services, Industrial, and Aerospace & Defense. He brings nearly 15 years of executive search and consulting experience, along with eight years of leadership as an officer in the United States Army.

Within Healthcare Services, John partners with hospitals, health systems, healthcare associations, and other provider organizations on senior executive and C-suite searches. His experience spans CEO, President, Chief Officer, and Vice President roles, with particular depth serving independent hospitals, regional health systems, and mission-driven healthcare organizations.

John also advises small and middle-market Industrial companies on critical leadership hires across a range of functions. His work in Aerospace & Defense is informed by his military background and gives him a distinctive perspective on leadership, mission, culture, and performance.

Prior to joining Stanton Chase, John founded and led the boutique executive search firm Wesley James. He previously served as Partner and Head of the U.S. Healthcare Practice and Managing Director at two globally recognized executive search firms. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Consultant with EY, advising health systems and other major organizations.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, John served two combat tours, commanded at the company level, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He earned his MBA from the University of Georgia and serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Charitable Care Network.
