Brian Lowenthal is an Advisory Director for the Nashville office of Stanton Chase, as well as the Founder and Executive Director of Improving the Odds. Improving the Odds is a social responsibility initiative that brings together businesses, nonprofits, and schools to help our youth develop the character and life skills they will need to become thriving citizens of the world. In 35 years as a business professional, Brian has been a corporate executive, executive coach, and business owner/entrepreneur.

As a Vice President of Human Resources (first with Dots, Inc., a retail apparel company, and later with Bonne Bell, a consumer products company), he designed, developed, and implemented HR strategic plans aligned to the organization’s business strategy. He has expertise in the deployment of leadership and team effectiveness processes that have significantly increased the level of employee engagement and organizational performance. Brian was the first Director, Organization and Leadership Development, at The Limited, where he facilitated the creation of their Balanced Scorecard.

As a consultant, he has worked globally with Fortune 100 companies as well as startups. He was Regional Vice President for Development Dimensions International, led the global HR and Shared Services Benchmarking practices for The Hackett Group, and led enterprise-wide culture-shaping initiatives for Senn Delaney. His areas of expertise include analytics, benchmarking, culture-shaping, development of leaders and teams, executive coaching, and facilitating and managing change.

Brian’s clients have included Synovus Financial, Motorola, Starbucks Coffee Company, Carlson Companies, Mattel, Kohler Company, JP Morgan Chase, Lockheed-Martin, Hard Rock Café, Bose Corporation, Ariel Investments, KeyBank, Chico’s, Medical Mutual of Ohio, AEP, Chesapeake Energy, The Ohio State University, Eli Lilly, Pemex, University Hospitals, DTE Energy, Grant Thornton, USAA, and Loblaw.

An internationally recognized speaker and author on analytics, benchmarking, culture, DE&I, HR strategy, leadership/team development, and organization development. He earned bachelor of science degrees in business education and business administration from Illinois State University, and an MBA from Roosevelt University. He is on the HR.com HR Analytics Advisory Board, is a Master Trainer of the John R Wooden Course, and SHRM-CP.
