Cheryl L. Read joined Stanton Chase as an Advisory Director to the Nashville office in 2014. She is currently President of Read & Associates, a Nashville based Marketing and Consulting firm, where she is responsible for leading and assisting clients in building brands that not only resonate with their consumer base but includes analysis and planning on how the brand is positioned in the marketplace. The success of any strategy depends on the skill of the strategists and their imagination and the ability to revitalize brands and make connections and build relationships.
With more than 30 years of corporate and financial experience, Read spent 29 years with Tennessee-based HCA, the nationís leading provider of healthcare services. Her responsibilities included all division communications, marketing management, community relations, diversity and inclusion, HCA Hope Fund and HCA Foundation at HCA working specifically with the hospitals located in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, and Georgia. HCAís nationwide footprint on healthcare offered her the ability to receive experience and guide outcomes in a myriad of leadership opportunities.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Read received her bachelorís degree in English from The University of Alabama. Most recently, she joined the Adjunct Faculty of Belmont Universityís Massey School of Business where she teaches Marketing Management for their Healthcare MBA program.
Additional experience includes Guest faculty with Vanderbiltís Owen Graduate School, Belmontís Service Marketing, and Civic Advisor for Lipscomb Universityís Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership/Center for Global Connectedness and Collaboration as well as involved in DDIís Behavioral Health Management Program for Executives.
Named by the Nashville Business Journal in 2009 as one of 30 ìWomen of Influence,î her community involvement includes providing leadership via numerous Philanthropic organizations including: American Red Cross, The Tiffany Circle of the American Red Cross, CASA Nashville. Board positions included HCA Foundation, The American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee and the National Sports Council to name a few.
