In 2019, Stanton Chase Bucharest conducted a pro bono executive search to identify the perfect fit for the role of Chief Executive Officer at Teach for Romania. In 2023, Stanton Chase Bucharest stepped up again, offering their services pro bono to scout for a world-class Public Relations (PR) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager for Humana People to People’s Romanian sector.
Established in 1996, Humana People to People is a global nonprofit organization with a presence in 45 countries across five continents. Its mission is dedicated to community development and eradicating poverty. The organization oversees an impressive 1,410 initiatives focusing on key areas such as the environment, health, education, and sustainable agriculture. These initiatives positively impact the lives of over 16.3 million people across Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Humana People to People describes their agenda as “Protecting the planet, building communities, and supporting people by connecting them with transformative programs, unleashing their potential for positive change and action.”
The organization consists of 29 independent member organizations, each with a strong presence in their respective countries. Some examples of these member organizations include Humana People to People Botswana, Humana People to People India, Humana People to People Belize, and Humana People to People France
In all their endeavors, Humana People to People emphasizes sustainability, aligning with the UN 2030 Agenda and actively supporting countries in their pursuit of meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In Romania, Humana People to People operates with an annual turnover of approximately €15 million, employing 300 full-time dedicated individuals and managing 41 shops. The core of their operations in Romania and the broader Central and Eastern European region revolves around the sale of second-hand clothing. The proceeds from these sales contribute to Humana People to People’s global network of NGOs and their extensive range of initiatives.
Humana People to People needed a new PR and CSR Manager to fulfill the essential task of raising their profile in Romania’s sustainable fashion sector and the circular economy for second-hand clothes. The prospective PR and CSR Manager would also play a vital role in increasing awareness of the social and environmental effects of Humana People to People’s operations, in line with the organization’s mission.
Given the multifaceted objectives of this role, the ideal candidate needed to possess exceptional communication skills to effectively enhance the organization’s operations in Romania and potentially facilitate expansion into Bulgaria and other Central and Eastern European regions.
The PR and CSR Manager would join the senior management team and work closely under the guidance of the CEO, collaborating with the commercial, human resources, and financial managers.
