Vikela Rankin, an experienced corporate executive, has joined the Johannesburg office of Stanton Chase, a leading global retained executive search firm with over 70 offices in 45 countries.

The announcement was made by Simpson Nondo, Managing Director of Stanton Chase in South Africa. The local SA office is now jointly run and owned by the two Partners.

“It is a distinct pleasure to welcome Vikela to the Stanton Chase team, and I am delighted at the value-add he brings to our firm,” said Nondo. “Vikela’s extensive experience in Sales/Marketing, Strategy Development and Senior Executive Management functions will definitively heighten the presence of Stanton Chase in key industry areas.”

Vikela joined Stanton Chase in March 2016 as a Partner, holding 26% shares in the local operation. His participation at the shareholder level tremendously boosts the firm’s black economic empowerment (BEE) credentials, enhancing its position to meet with increasingly stringent market requirements around BEE accreditation.

Vikela is responsible for promoting and elevating the SA office’s chosen CSI project, ValueEd, through which Stanton Chase supports efforts to bring about meaningful development and change within the education sector of SA’s underprivileged communities.

Vikela’s corporate working experience spans over 20 years within the financial services (insurance), FMCG (beverages), telecommunications and airline industries. From 2009 to 2016 he was employed by Motorola Solutions Southern Africa; initially, he headed up the Business Development function, and thereafter, he was appointed Managing Director in 2012, the position he held until he left. Prior to Motorola, he worked for significant blue-chip companies such as Old Mutual, SABMiller, South African Airways, Gillette, BP, Unilever, and Wesbank.

He holds a Joint Honours degree in Psychology and Contemporary Studies, as well as a Master of Arts degree from the University of Dundee, Scotland.
