Stanton Chase Toronto is pleased to announce the successful placement of Blake Tohana as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for 9 Story Media Group. In addition to fiscal management, Tohana will lead the company’s Corporate Finance and Risk Management activities, working under 9 Story’s President and CEO, Vince Commisso.
Tohana joins 9 Story from Tricon Films & Television and brings with him a wealth of media and entertainment industry experience and expertise as a CFO. An accomplished financial executive, Tohana previously held the role of Executive VP and CFO of Magna Entertainment Corporation (MEC). MEC was publicly-traded on the TSX and NASDAQ, with 5,000 employees and $1.1 billion in total assets, leaving no doubt as to Tohana’s pedigree as an exceptionally-talented candidate.
9 Story Media Group is a Toronto-based creator, producer, and distributor of award-winning animation and live action content for young audiences around the globe. This C-suite placement, following their acquisition of Brown Bag Films in 2015, marks a pivotal time for the company as it continues to grow, and adds bench strength to its strong, cohesive Executive Leadership Team.
Cathy Logue, Managing Director of Stanton Chase Toronto, explains, “The highly-successful completion of this mandate is a testament to the merits of our hands-on, collaborative approach to executive search. Marrying our deep search expertise and strong partnership with Vince and the 9 Story team, we were able to make a perfect fit of top leadership talent.”
