« Springboard » (www.springboard.wien) was founded in June 2015 by Michael Schaumann (Managing Partner Stanton Chase) and Robert Gulla (CEO LUKOIL International Holding GmbH ).
Our goal is to support and encourage young people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds on their way into and in professional life.
Springboard provides counseling and coaching for youth in their career choices, mentoring programs, career workshops, and speaking engagements. Every year we arrange more than 50 internships, apprenticeships and jobs. Furthermore, we offer numerous scholarships every year and organize donations in kind for specific projects.
The ultimate goal is always to provide unbureaucratic and quick help and support to our mentees.
Springboard is also home to two other projects: With the « KULTurgut » initiative, we arrange a variety of cultural experiences each year for our young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend theater performances, concerts, sporting events, museum tours, etc.
With the « Go Digital! » project, we organize laptops for families and young people, thus combating the phenomenon of the « digital divide. » Since 2020, the project has collected over 400 laptops and handed them over to young people – an important contribution to educational success, especially in times of Corona-induced homeschooling.
Our association Springboard has received the award for the best Austrian project with the project « Go Digital » for the special effort in combating the « Digital Divide » among school-age children. The Intercultural Achievement Award presented by the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs is a great confirmation of our work and a great motivation to continue.
