Aapo Kilpinen

Aapo Kilpinen is a Principal at Stanton Chase Helsinki, where he acts as a trusted leadership advisor for Finland’s leading companies. Previously, he held the role of Head of Research for the executive search firm’s team in the Finnish capital.

During his career at Stanton Chase, Aapo has successfully conducted numerous board and C-level assignments, ranging from VC/PE-backed growth companies to Finland’s largest companies listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. In addition, Aapo has a strong track record from cross-border mandates for leading global clients listed on Euronext, NASDAQ, and NYSE.

Aapo has a keen interest in capital markets, strategy, and ownership. He is an active investor and firmly believes in generating shareholder value through exceptional leadership, which led him to pursue a career in executive search and leadership advisory.

Aapo holds an M.Sc. in Finance from Turku School of Economics. His master’s thesis covered insider trading profitability, and his scholarship-awarded bachelor’s thesis covered financial risk models.

Aapo was a highly successful gamer during his high school years, competing in eSports at the highest level. He won numerous league titles and was a member of the world championship-winning Finnish national team.

Aapo is proficient in Finnish and English and has conversational skills in Swedish, German, and Korean. When it comes to his personal interests, Aapo likes to sail the Finnish archipelago, lift weights at the gym, and read about history.
