Mikael Stelander is the Managing Partner of the Stanton Chase Helsinki office, which he founded in 2005. He has extensive experience in various business sectors, particularly technology and private equity. He conducts searches at the C-level across a wide range of industries and caters to clients globally.
He has successfully placed CEOs in public companies and a CEO to a growth company that later grew into a unicorn.
Mikael also conducts management assessments, culture assessments, and board services.
His comprehensive understanding of the private equity field has permitted him to build up many successful management teams that have later enabled international expansions and successful exits.
Under his management, the Stanton Chase Helsinki office was awarded the Stanton Chase Office of the Year prize multiple times. In 2015, Mikael published a book together with his colleagues on the subject of executive search.
During his career at Stanton Chase, he served as Vice President EMEA between 2012 and 2017. Prior to that, between 2007 and 2011, he served as Global Practice Leader in technology. Mikael is one of the most experienced international executive search consultants in the Nordics. He started his career in executive search in 1998 and has always had an entrepreneurial view of business.
Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Mikael worked at a Nordic executive search company specializing in technology. He holds a master’s of science degree in economics from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. He is fluent in English, Finnish, and Swedish.
