Lisa DeWaard, Ph.D.

Lisa has been working in the field of cross-cultural communication for almost 20 years, specializing in the communication style and cultures of Europe, North America, and Latin America. Her research projects focus on miscommunication due to cultural differences. As CEO of Hofstede Insights USA, she uses her expertise to help businesses achieve success in the international realm.

During her work in academia, Lisa directed the University of Iowa’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese. The main component of this work was the mentoring and supervision of the Teaching Assistants (>50) from all over the world. These experiences exposed her to the same challenges facing executives of international teams.

Lisa Integrates organizational vision with inclusion, culture creation, and transformational change on a global scale to design and operationalize enterprise-wide DEI strategies. She is certified in intercultural management and organizational culture and can provide additional expertise in trust building and global virtual management.

Lisa speaks English, Spanish, Italian, and Russian.
