Greg Selker

Greg Selker has been conducting retained executive searches for 29+ years in technology. He has personally completed more than 300 executive searches over his career including 45 CEO searches and numerous CRO, CMO, CHRO and CFO searches. He has also conducted leadership development sessions with more than 50 executives from companies such as BMC Software, Katzenbach Partners, NetSuite, Pfizer, SolarWinds, Symantec, TRW, and VeriSign, moving into executive coaching relationships with seven executives spanning CEOs, CIOs, and CFOs.

Throughout Greg’s career, technology companies have been his focus, including those dealing in enterprise software, SaaS, data analytics, martech/adtech, cyber security, and cloud/IT infrastructure. His search practice has ranged from building the leadership teams of venture-backed start-ups, to working with private-equity owned fast growth and global multinational companies at both the board and executive management levels.

Additionally, Greg has co-led trainings given to hundreds of personnel on best hiring practices and values-based behavioral interviewing across the senior leadership teams of many of these same companies. He works extensively with several premier mid-cap growth-oriented private equity firms in building out the leadership teams of their portfolio companies.

A former partner at one of the leading multinational executive search firms (CT Partners), he played a key role in driving their growth into a major, international executive search firm. He joined CT Partners as their 11th employee and over 12 years, during which time he co-led their technology, venture and private equity practices, he was instrumental in growing the firm to 300 people.

In 2002, he launched his own firm, Selker Leadership, where for 14 years he spearheaded the development of a values-centric and competency-based behavioral interviewing and assessment methodology which was used as the basis for the firm’s executive search and leadership consulting services. This methodology was integrated into the hiring practices of three Fortune 500 companies.

In 2017, Selker Leadership merged with Torch Group where he was the Senior Vice President and Director of their Technology, Software, and Private Equity Practice.

Greg is the author of numerous blogs and articles, and of the published book, “Creating Leaders and Organizations of Greatness, A How-To Guide.”
