Paul K. Herrerias

Paul has over thirty years of executive search and leadership consulting service in the Bay Area. He has conducted hundreds of search assignments in the professional and financial services, consumer products, technology, and wine industries. Prior to becoming managing director of Stanton Chase San Francisco in 2006, Paul co-founded three executive search and consulting firms.

Previous professional career affiliations include KPMG Peat Marwick's Executive Search team and Deloitte & Touche, where he obtained his CPA license. He lectures and consults with CPA firms on recruiting, leadership development, and succession planning. Paul served as Chapter President, State Council member, and State Board member for the California Society of CPAs, a 30,000-member professional association.

Paul leads the Professional Services- North America/Latin America Industry Practice Group, and formerly was head of Stanton Chase's North America Financial Services Practice. He has earned a Master's degree in Human Resources and Organization Development (MHROD) and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, both from the University of San Francisco, and has an active CPA License.

Mike McDonald

Michael possesses over 25 years of experience delivering value-added executive search services to high technology companies. Clients range from venture-backed start-ups to billion dollar industry leaders. Primary technology markets he serves include companies within the hardware, software, and professional services segments that supply technology solutions to the manufacturing, mechanical, architectural, engineering, semi-conductor, and electronics industries.

Past client engagements encompass executive and management level positions across all functional disciplines such as sales, marketing, engineering, and R&D. Additionally, clients look to Michael to build executive teams for international technology companies entering, establishing, and/or expanding their North American operations.

Michael is responsible for developing the Stanton Chase Technology Industry Practice Group in Northern California, and is also a member of the Professional Services team. Previously Michael built and ran his own executive search firm that served clients across the United States, with an emphasis in Silicon Valley. Michael holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Northeastern University of Illinois.

Peter Deragon

Pete has thirty years experience in the investment and financial services industry – half of that time conducting executive search assignments for major organizations throughout the West Coast. He took leadership of Stanton Chase's North America Financial Services Industry practice in 2009. He has served national and international organizations in executive and professional search, at the institutional and retail levels, working with investment banks, commercial banks, insurance companies, trust companies, private banks and investment management firms.

Pete's engagements often include portfolio management, financial advisory, private banking and sales management searches with banks, trust companies, asset management firms and national brokerage firms. He has developed a reputation for landing top-performing executives, professionals, and teams for a growing base of global and national financial services firms.

Pete started his career in San Francisco as a fully licensed institutional salesman at PaineWebber Capital Markets (now UBS) and Wells Fargo's Trading and Investments Group. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of California in political science and has acquired numerous securities licenses for investment sales positions during his career in institutional sales.

Samuel Dergel

Samuel has been successfully involved with executive search and consulting for over eleven years. Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Samuel founded and led two search and consulting firms focusing on senior financial executives.

Samuel is an active CPA, Chartered Accountant (Canada) as well as a Certified Personnel Consultant, and is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Samuel started his career with Ernst & Young, and went on to financial leadership roles in the Manufacturing and Technology sectors before joining the world of executive search.

Samuel is known as “The CFO Expert” and is an active blogger and social media leader on the topic of the Chief Financial Officer. His expertise in understanding the challenges that CFOs face and the needs of companies hiring them allows Samuel to assist clients with hiring the most appropriate Chief Financial Officer.

Jim Piper

Jim has twenty-five years of experience providing recruiting and consulting services for financial industry clients throughout North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. As an expert in the evolution of new products and technologies for capital markets, he is often a featured speaker at events sponsored by such diverse organizations as the NYSE, LIFFE, CME, the National Society of Quantitative Analysts, and the Graduate School of Business, Insead, France.

Jim earned a Bachelor's degree in Science from the United States Air Force Academy (USAF), a Master's degree from Georgetown University, as well as an M.B.A degree from The George Washington University. The founder of Stanton Chase Chicago, Jim is now affiliated with the San Francisco office, where he serves on the Financial Services Practice Group.

Richard J. Selmeier

Richard has served as a top executive with Fortune 100 companies and several high technology pioneers. He began his career in consumer packaged goods with Procter & Gamble and then oversaw the Clorox account for Foote, Cone & Belding, and managed the Western Region for American Express before launching a CEO career.

Richard has assumed numerous chief-level roles including: President and CEO for Sandaro Industries, a high tech company sold to Total, Ltd.; GM of DTS Decision Support; President/COO of Tele Atlas North America, the U.S. subsidiary of the Dutch-owned digital mapping company; and President/CEO of Aserta Sports, designer of revolutionary golf equipment.

He developed and ran his own management consulting practice providing strategic planning, branding and sales management expertise to a “who's who” of clients including: Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, AT&T, American Express, Bank of America, McKesson Corporation, Clorox Company, Monsanto and The American Red Cross. Just prior to joining Stanton Chase in 2009, Richard spent a year recruiting top professional talent in San Francisco with a national firm.

Richard has both an MBA and BBA from the University of Michigan and Certifications in Advanced Management Studies in Strategic Planning from Harvard University and in Organization Development from the University of Michigan. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was recognized for distinguished service in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

H. Edward (Ted) Muendel

Ted has over twenty years of consulting experience to senior management and their Boards on organizational planning, executive recruiting/selection, and the value of leadership capitalization. After graduating from Lehigh University, he spent 8 years in management with Allegheny Ludlum Industries at various US manufacturing locations, before joining the prominent general management-consulting firm, Theodore Barry & Associates, Los Angeles. After 4 years of diverse corporate client experience, he accepted an appointment to the Secretary of Transportation in Washington D.C. Ted then went on to establish an executive search firm which has become Stanton Chase International.

He holds a Master of Science degree, with honors, from Northern Illinois University. In 1993, he was elected International President of the Alumni Association for Lehigh University, and is an appointed Trustee of the University. Ted has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and other national newspapers. Currently, he sits on several Boards, including the Dingman Entrepreneurial Center of the Business School, University of Maryland, the National Aquarium, and several private corporations.
