Emerson HughesManaging Partner Emerson has been an executive recruiter for more than 20 years. He has conducted numerous searches at C-level and senior-management levels across Canada, North America and Europe, for companies that operate in virtually every sector including manufacturing, natural resources, transportation, technology, financial services, pharmaceutical, academia and not-for-profit, to mention just a few. The roster of functional areas extends to every business discipline. He also recruits board members for public- and private sector enterprises. Emerson brings to his clients a well-honed search expertise and methodology, as well as a unique ability to quickly develop a clear understanding of corporate strategy and how that translates into the acquisition of key executives who execute beyond expectations. Shawn DavidsonPartner Shawn joined Stanton Chase in 2005. She brings to the organization more than twenty-five years of experience in the field of human resources and executive search. Shawn specializes in recruiting finance and human resources professionals, including C-level executives, vice-presidents, and directors, as well as senior managers and functional specialists. Her niche specialty is recruiting investment strategists, financial analysts, and economists. Shawn has conducted searches for billion-dollar public corporations, privately-owned companies, as well as small entrepreneurial enterprises, operating in diverse industries including financial services, manufacturing, transportation, high-tech, and pharmaceutical. Steve JohnstonePartner Steve has successfully recruited C-level and senior executives for more than twenty-five years. He has recruited extensively in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, serving a diverse client base. His experience includes sourcing very specialized, technical expertise, as well as management for the natural resource industries. His primary focus more recently has included aerospace and pharmaceuticals, as well as other manufacturing sectors. Steve is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal. After working in senior marketing roles with two large international manufacturing organizations, he started a recruiting company to search for senior technical, manufacturing and financial management personnel. After several years, the business subsequently merged with GAAP Executive Search in Montreal, where he continued his work, until GAAP became part of the world-wide Stanton Chase network. John GradekPartner John had a successful career in the transportation and logistics industry prior to joining Stanton Chase in May 2008. His business experience included 19 years with Air Canada, serving in a number of senior management roles such as Director Yield Management, Toronto Airport Customer Service Manager, and a number of roles in both fleet scheduling and marketing. John also held senior management roles at Canadian Pacific Railway, including Director, Capacity Planning, Director, Locomotive Fleet Management, and participating in a number of business process re-engineering projects at the railway. Most recently, his business experience expanded in the energy field, guiding new technology start-up organizations in leadership, strategy and product development. John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Design from the University of Montreal, his Electrical Engineering degree in Electronics from Carleton University and his MBA from the University of Western Ontario. John has been active in the academic community for several years, lecturing at McGill University and for the International Air Transport Association. John’s broad transportation and logistics management experience, combined with his strong background in information technology and innovative leading-edge enterprise-wide system design and development, bring added value to his search practice specialties of IT and Supply Chain Management.
