Dean Bare

Dean Bare, managing director of Stanton Chase International’s
Atlanta office, brings more than 30 years of experience
in various business sectors to the executive search
process. A principal of Stanton Chase since 2002,
Bare offers broad experience in the manufacturing,
engineering and technology industries where he has
implemented national and international search assignments
for key executive positions. These assignments include
chief executive, general management, finance, marketing,
sales operations, research and development, quality
assurance and business development. Clients include
global companies such as Schlumberger, a leading
oilfield services firm, and Labinal, provider of
services and products to the aerospace industry.
Bare’s business experience before coming
to Stanton Chase includes senior level positions
with leading companies. He helped establish and served
as president of the MullingBrooks executive search
firm, and before that was with Boyden International,
one of the nation’s oldest search firms. Early
in his career, he owned and operated an executive
search firm, Corporate Source.
Bare’s extensive multidisciplinary experience
also includes eight years as division manager of
NCH Corporation, a leading specialty chemical company.
As executive vice president of The Restoration Company,
a large scale disaster recovery firm, he directed
the opening of offices in New York, Chicago and
Los Angeles.
Born and raised in Tennessee, he received his
bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University
of Tennessee. Bare, who has been involved in more
than 200 successful executive searches, also dedicates
a part of his practice to not-for-profit organizations
and major hospital systems in the Southeast.

James L. Harvey, Jr.
Principal

James Harvey, a Principal in the Atlanta office, has more than 18
years of experience as a retained executive search consultant in a
wide range of industries and functional areas. At Stanton Chase he
functions as a generalist, with a concentration in the financial
services, manufacturing, and retail industries.
Before joining Stanton Chase in 2003, he was Vice President of a
boutique executive search firm in the Atlanta area, conducting
searches in a variety of industries, including pulp and paper,
specialty chemicals and manufacturing.
A native of Pennsylvania who has made Atlanta his home since 1978,
Jim began his professional career in human resources management,
working for Travelers Insurance Company in various locations
throughout the United States. After 11 years with the firm, he
became Director of Human Resources in Atlanta for one of the nation's
leading furniture retailers. Following that he led human resources
management for a fast-growing software development firm, also in Atlanta.
Jim received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University
of Colorado and did post-graduate work in economics and accounting at
Georgia State University.
Jim and his wife Mimi are avid fly fishers who have enjoyed the sport
in rivers throughout North Georgia as well as in waters from Alaska to Belize.

Tony Palmer
Principal

Tony received his undergraduate
degree in Business Administration from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while on a full
Navy scholarship. At graduation, he was commissioned
as a naval officer and subsequently completed flight
school. Tony flew operationally for three years in
the Pacific theatre before joining the faculty at
the United States Naval Academy. While at Annapolis,
Tony managed the leadership development curriculum
presented to all first year students. During that
time, he also earned his MS in Personnel Management
from George Washington University.
Prior to joining
StantonChase, Tony was the owner of his own firm
as well as a member of a nationally recognized boutique
search firm. As a Managing Partner within a national
HR consulting practice, Tony and his staff guided
many of Atlanta’s larger organizations
and their employees through business realignments
and restructurings. Tony has executed searches across
all functions and at levels from field operations
to corporate senior management, with a concentration
in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Industry

Ajit Thampy
Principal

Ajit Thampy has more than 17 years of experience in the life sciences and technology sectors. He is based in Atlanta’s satellite office in Cary, N.C., near Research Triangle Park, the globally renowned center of innovation in life sciences and information/communications technology. Thampy specializes in executive searches for companies in this region, among other areas nationwide. Research Triangle Park is anchored by the cities of Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh.
Before joining Stanton Chase, he was a partner in the Cary office of Allen Austin Executive Search where he worked in the firm’s life sciences and technology practice. Previously, he was a senior manager with Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, Mass., serving as the primary liaison between regulatory operations and information technology.
Earlier, he was with First Consulting Group, Somerset N.J., as the lead consultant for pharmaceutical companies. He was involved in business analysis and IT implementations. Clients were Aventis, Amgen, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Unilever and Merck-Medco.
Born and raised in Bombay, India, Thampy began his professional career as a product executive with the Indian subsidiary of Intergraph Corporation. He then worked for British Telecom in England and India as a senior software engineer.
After coming to the United States in 1995, he joined DMR Consulting Group (now Fujitsu) in Edison, N.J., as a senior consultant for American Express, AT&T and the New York City Department of Health, among other clients.
Thampy will receive his MBA in November 2008 from Duke University in Durham. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Walchand Institute of Technology in India. Thampy also has a certificate in Project Management from Boston University, and earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
