The Latin American Region experienced extraordinary economic growth in 2004, with GDP rising by 5.5%. This represents the greatest annual growth in the last 25 years and an important recovery from 2003, which saw only a 1.3% increase in GDP. It is also encouraging that projected growth for 2005 is 4.1%.

The main cause of this growth is due to the rise in international commodity prices allowing a favorable flow of foreign currency, creating positive conditions for consumption, and savings and investments multiplying growth opportunities without the need of increased external debt.

These favorable economic conditions allowed a significant growth in the demand for executives during 2004, continuing in 2005, embracing a wide spectrum of industries, particularly consumer products, energy, oil, pharmaceutical, automobile, IT and services.

This demand has been oriented towards executives who, apart from knowing the local culture, have the required qualifications to perform in global companies.
