Jennifer Chen

Jennifer is a Chinese-Canadian who has many years of experience in Human Resource Management and Executive Search, including the execution of executive search mandates in China and overseas.

After returning to China in 2004, Jennifer joined Hays, a UK based executive search firm, as a Senior Consultant. Following an impressive start, she was promoted within one year to Project Manager.

More recently, and prior to joining Stanton Chase International, Jennifer was General Manager of a German-based management consulting firm in Southern China. In this position, she was responsible for assisting clients in setting-up new organizations and expanding and developing their businesses across Asia.

Jennifer specializes in assisting clients in identifying suitably qualified people, upgrading their workforce, outplacement and providing a range of other HR solutions. These solutions include compensation and benefit benchmarking, human resources restructuring and bridging the cultural gap between “East” and “West” alike.

In her previous position Jennifer developed her company’s branding and reputation in the market in a short period of time and successfully acquired new clients. With abundant experience in the cultivation of businesses, Jennifer’s clients have benefitted from steady growth.

Jennifer holds a Mini MBA from Toronto York Region College and a Higher Diploma from the Hotel Management School in Switzerland. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and basic German.

Vera Chen

Following the completion of her studies, Vera joined the largest aluminum extruder in China as a Human Resources specialist. Here she accumulated a broad range of Human Resource skills, particularly in the areas of staff relationships and payroll administration.

To further develop her abilities, Vera started a new career as an executive search professional, commencing as a Researcher in a German management consulting company. Vera’s analytical skills and previous experience helped her quickly master the various aspects of research in Executive Search.

Besides providing general support to Senior Consultants throughout the entire search and recruitment process, Vera also coordinated other projects with her colleagues, including the collection of market information, local data sourcing and assisting with business development.

As an active and resourceful team player, Vera was quickly promoted to Consultant where, using her in-depth knowledge, she was capable of independently completing executive search projects. To date, she has successfully delivered senior executive search mandates in industrial, manufacturing and metal processing, as well as other industry sectors. Vera is outgoing and enthusiastic and able to establish an excellent rapport and relationship with clients, candidates and colleagues alike.

Vera has a B.Sc. degree, majoring in Environmental Science. Born and raised in Guangzhou, Vera is a native Cantonese and Mandarin speaker and she is also fluent in English.

Stuart Ruan

Senior Consultant

Stuart began his career as a Sourcing Specialist in a trading company focusing on industrial products. During this period, Stuart developed excellent business acumen, gained industrial knowledge and developed his “searching” skills.

Building on his interest in Executive Search, Stuart later joined a German-headquartered consulting company in Guangzhou as a Researcher. This company mainly offered assistance to European organizations regarding local management positions in China. In this role, Stuart quickly secured various executive search mandates; moreover, he was involved in researching and collecting relevant market information on defined target companies and their analysis. He also assisted Senior Consultants in candidate interviews and selections, following which Stuart was quickly promoted as a Consultant.

Prior to joining Stanton Chase International, Stuart also took part in other projects, such as Management Audits and consulting on HR policies in China. Having gained a deeper understanding of the culture and operations of European enterprises, Stuart is now in an excellent position to manage culture differences across Western and Chinese organizations.

Stuart now specializes in the industrial, manufacturing and electronic sectors where he handles positions ranging from middle to senior management roles.

Stuart holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. He is a native speaker in Mandarin and Cantonese, and is fluent in English.
